UkraineFest 2026

UkraineFest 2026 returns to Town Gardens for a vibrant celebration of Ukrainian Independence Day, bringing together music, culture, food and community in the heart of Swindon.

The free festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across Wiltshire and beyond. Having welcomed more than 4,000 visitors last year, organisers believe UkraineFest could be the largest Ukrainian Independence Day celebration in the United Kingdom.

This year's event comes as Swindon moves closer to a historic twinning partnership with the Ukrainian city of Rivne, adding an extra layer of significance to a day dedicated to friendship, cultural exchange and community spirit.

Visitors can enjoy a packed programme of live entertainment throughout the day, featuring Ukrainian singers, musicians, dancers and performance groups from across the UK. Authentic Ukrainian food and drink will be available alongside a cultural market showcasing artwork, crafts and handmade products.

The festival will also feature art exhibitions, interactive workshops and family-friendly activities. Children can enjoy creative sessions, giant bubble displays, trampolines and hands-on activities, while adults can explore Ukrainian traditions, music and contemporary culture.

A dedicated workshop area will offer opportunities to try painting, clay work, macramé and other creative activities. Visitors can also take part in informal music sessions and try a range of musical instruments in the festival's music zone.

One of the highlights of the event will be Home with an Open Heart, a documentary photography exhibition sharing the stories of Ukrainian families and the British hosts who welcomed them, celebrating the friendships and connections that have grown within the Swindon community.

UkraineFest is organised by Swindon Welcomes Ukraine and aims to bring people of all backgrounds together in a spirit of unity, friendship and cultural celebration.
