Antigone

Jim Coupland’s adaptation of Antigone, produced by Authentik Theatre, reimagines Sophocles’ tragedy as a tense and psychologically charged exploration of power, grief, and political collapse. Examining how authority can harden into obsession and moral certainty into destruction, the adaptation follows the devastating consequences of leadership under pressure, where the need for control threatens both family and state. Urgent and deeply human, this production brings a contemporary resonance to one of theatre’s most enduring tragedies.
