This place is an idyll...
When TV’s Tony Robinson came to the museum, he remarked “This place is an idyll.”, and we think you’ll agree.
With the old farmhouse and thatched cottage with displays, ancient outbuildings, and extensive wild gardens, this is a hidden gem nestled between the town and Coate Water country park.
As well as everything you might expect from a small, quirky museum, you can enjoy regular events such as our very popular Lazy Summer Sundays, with cream teas and free live music on the lawn! And there are numerous other activities where you might encounter full scale steam engines, art exhibitions, toddlers singing, craft stalls, gardening projects, and people generally enjoying themselves. Come and see for yourself.
